Recently we were at cousins for Shabbos, when their little son stopped my husband after davening and said “Why do Meir and Avi (his brothers who both got married after us) have kids and you don’t? It’s not fair! I think you should get a turn already…” Thankfully, this kid is just too cute – although I do feel like clobbering him every time he gets up and gives us brachos in a rather public forum.

As for his question, well, um… Okay, there is that age old adage life is unequal but fair. Still, though, I have to admit that sometimes, some place deep down, his complaint rings true.
